Svetlana Bolshosky has been doing ballet since the age of 4. Her mother was a renowned ballerina in the Russian Ballet. As Svetlana grew up watching her mother practice, her interest and determination to be just like her mother also grew. Seeing her child’s dedication to ballet, Svetlana’s mother enrolled her at one of the most promising ballet schools in Russia. She toured with Svetlana, who always watched her mother with intense fascination from the sidelines. Now, Svetlana has accomplished her lifelong goal of becoming just as good as her mother. She had extremely high expectations to meet, being born of a star – but Svetlana’s hard work and acute observation has paid off. She is one of the Russian Ballet’s most prized ballerinas. Her performances are said to bring tears to anyone’s eyes and watching her dance in a production of the legendary Swan Lake is supposed to be an especially moving experience as she truly glides over the stage with the grace of a swan.
